About the role:

The Project Management Office (PMO) will be responsible for leading and coordinating all phases of the project life cycle from conceptualization and design through contractor selection, contract negotiation, and contract signing, ensuring the application of best practices in project management and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Acting as the Owner’s Representative, the PMO will ensure coordination among all stakeholders and the successful delivery of projects within the defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

A fundamental aspect of this role is the contractual management of EPC contracts, representing the majority of the company’s project portfolio. The PMO must be highly skilled in critically analyzing, structuring, and managing EPC contracts to ensure compliance, anticipate risks, and safeguard the company’s technical and commercial interests throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the contractual management of EPC contracts, ensuring robust analysis, negotiation, administration, and compliance with all technical and commercial obligations. Safeguard the company’s interests by identifying risks early and implementing effective mitigation measures.
  • Oversee the full development of construction projects, from the design phase through contractor selection, contract structuring, and finalization.
  • Manage overall project coordination across architecture, engineering, and technical disciplines (Design Coordination) to ensure alignment and integration.
  • Drive procurement processes, from the preparation and launch of tenders to bid analysis, negotiation support, and issuing of technical and commercial recommendations.
  • Administer contracts and monitor the performance of contractors and supervision teams to achieve the highest standards of execution.
  • Ensure the consistent application of the company’s project management policies, propose improvements, and supervise field implementation.
  • Monitor project progress with respect to timelines, budgets, quality, and safety, escalating deviations and applying corrective actions as required.
  • Produce accurate and timely progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the company and external stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and public or private entities.



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in Project Management is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in similar roles, with strong project management expertise in civil construction.
  • Solid experience in coordinating multidisciplinary projects and preparing contractual documentation.
  • Proven experience representing the client or owner in construction projects.
  • Strong background in contract management of EPC contracts, including the ability to perform critical analysis and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure, housing, or social equipment projects.
  • International project exposure is a strong advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, results-driven, and highly organized.
  • Dynamic, proactive, and an excellent communicator and negotiator.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written); French is a plus.
