About the role:
Mitrelli aims to reinforce the Technical & Innovation Department within the Engineering & Production Department, with a Design Coordinator, to support its activities in National Electrical Infrastructures (Substations, OHL,…), Urban Electrical Infrastructures and Electrical installations in Complex building developments.
We are looking for a senior professional who is passionate about innovation in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy, energy storage, and smart grid technology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of energy systems, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive our technical strategy forward while scaling operations.
This role reports to the Department Head Responsible and interacts with internal multidiscipline experienced experts, including other electrical experts, and with external designers and consultants, contractors, and suppliers in his specific area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise and guidance on various projects that may include complex electrical infrastructure projects, namely HV Substations, OHL, Tower design, as in Urban Infrastructures and building developments (LV/MV).
- Actively participate in the design & build full project cycle, from the conception phase, preparation, design, implementation, tests, commissioning and guarantee, in complex engineering designs, contributing to projects that make a positive impact on African communities.
- Close follow-up of design process to get the best design with the quality required in a cost-effective way, timely manner.
- Deep knowledge in European and other International normative, and Angolan and Portuguese regulations.
- Participation in contractor tender process, technical documentation preparation and bid analysis.
- Coordinate technical issues, giving specific professional support to Project “owner” (PM or PMO) action, to meet technical requirements and best practices.
- Follow-up and supervision of construction process.
- Coordination and monitoring of systems tests, trial, training, systems manuals development, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
- Conduct field surveys on electrical facilities; identifies, recommends strategies to solve problems, or to promote expansion, upgrades, and/or necessary maintenance required to the systems.
- Defines appropriate materials and equipment.
- Provides definition of Electrical interaction with SCADA, BMS/GTC systems, and interact efficiently with other disciplines: HVAC and Hydraulic.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering field.
- 10+ years of experience in design / design coordination /construction/implementation activities related to electrical power National and Urban infrastructure, proven experience with HV substations, transmission lines, and building electrical systems.
- Software knowledge: Microsoft Office;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ETAP, Project management and Revit and GIS a plus
- Excellent oral and written Portuguese & English communication skills. French appreciated.
