About The Position
The Civil Works Site Manager will be responsible for managing on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are executed according to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role involves supervising contractors, coordinating daily operations, and maintaining project timelines and budgets. The Site Manager will play a key role in ensuring efficient site management, problem-solving, and compliance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction site operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and safety regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate work crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.
- Monitor construction quality, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues, preventing delays and cost overruns.
- Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to optimize execution strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including progress reports, material usage, and labor deployment.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and construction tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
- Certification in Construction Site Management or Health & Safety.
- Minimum 5 years´ experience in site management for large-scale civil construction projects. Ability to lead and manage teams on-site effectively.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Experience working with construction management tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unforeseen challenges on-site.
- Must have experience with infrastructure projects such as water systems, roads, or large-scale developments.
- Familiarity with local construction laws, permitting processes, and environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of modern construction technologies and sustainability practices.
- Familiarity with local government regulations and permitting processes.
- Familiarity with Angolan construction regulations and environmental considerations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving, and the ability to interact with different levels.
- Fluency in Portuguese is required; English proficiency is an advantage.
