About The Position
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Health Sector Manager with a solid background in business development, project management, and finance management within the healthcare sector to lead the growth of our health sector operations across Angola, Ivory Coast, and Senegal.
The role focuses on creating and implementing strategies to grow revenue and market presence, identifying new opportunities, and expanding service offerings tailored to the healthcare sector in these regions. Part of this role includes presenting and pitching to potential clients, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and industry understanding, such as strong understanding and analytical skills to understand market trends, competition, and customer needs, and use this information to inform strategy and identify new business opportunities; excellent communication and negotiation skills to clearly articulate the value proposition of the organization to potential clients and negotiate profitable contracts, and financial acumen to develop cost-effective business strategies and achieve revenue targets.

Job Summary:
The Sector Manager will assume a leadership role within our International Health Sector who operates mainly in emerging markets (Africa).
The Manager is responsible for the company's success and oversees its various functions in all territories of activities, including business development, marketing, execution, operations, finance, human resources, legal and technology, while managing the needs of customers, investors, shareholders, Board, employees and other stakeholders.
This role requires relocation & residence in Angola and travelling to Senegal, Ivory Coast and additional countries.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Analyze the healthcare market in Angola, Ivory Coast and Senegal, identifying opportunities for new services.
- Develop and implement strategies for business growth and market expansion in healthcare construction and related services by creating detailed business plans and setting goals to increase the company’s market share and profitability in the healthcare sector.
- Expand the company’s service offerings, ensuring alignment with the unique needs of the African healthcare market.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, and private sector partners, to identify potential collaborations and service needs.
- Actively identify and promote additional services to meet the evolving needs of healthcare providers in the region.
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the company's strategy, business direction, and growth engines.
- Identify potential outbound opportunities across various verticals and territories, including potential acquisitions or partnerships to enhance the business offerings and drive innovation to stay competitive in the market.
Government Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with government officials and entities in the relevant territories.
- Effectively present the company's value proposition, with a focus on emerging markets, to secure substantial business opportunities.
- Build long-term relationships while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Leadership
- Manage the employees under your purview to maximize synergies, growth, efficiency, and profitability.
- Provide leadership to a sizeable organization consisting of high revenue, activity, number of employees.
Financial Management
- Oversee the BS, P&L, CF of the company, managing a budget circa hundred million dollars.
- Apply business best practices and operate within a highly matrixed environment, selling complex multi-disciplinary innovative solutions and blended finance models.
Matrix Collaboration
- Work in a matrix organization, leveraging corporate functions such as Purchasing, HR, IT, ERP, Marketing to support the business objectives and ensure effective coordination across the company.
Crisis Management
- Leading the sector during times of crisis or uncertainty.
- Making timely and informed decisions to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
Requirements
- Must have professional experience in the global health market, with a strong background in healthcare operations, management, or related fields.
- 10+ years of strong business development and marketing background, with a minimum of 5 years' experience working globally with leading entities and establishing successful partnerships.
- Educational background in leading commercial sectors (e.g., Industrial & Management Engineering, BA/MBA in Business Administration). · A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) is a plus.
- Proven track record of collaborating with government officials and national entities.
- Proven expertise in the international Health market, with a strong focus on leveraging technology for Innovative healthcare solutions that address evolving market needs and improve patient outcomes.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale construction projects, ideally within healthcare.
- Experience in Africa, with specific expertise in Angola being highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing a global company with a substantial business scope, encompassing revenues in the range of a circa hundred million dollars.
- Strong background in identifying, developing, and selling additional services to existing and potential clients.
- Experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, in the context of healthcare construction and operations.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English is a MUST HAVE. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
