About The Position
Job Overview:
The Civil Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing civil engineering projects within Mitrelli. This role ensures that all construction activities adhere to project specifications, budgets, and timelines while complying with safety and regulatory standards. The Project Manager will coordinate with stakeholders, supervise contractors, and drive the successful execution of infrastructure projects.
Mitrelli, through its Water & Food Security initiatives, aims to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for water supply, irrigation, and food security in communities worldwide. Our projects not only seek to improve the quality of life for the populations served but also to drive local economic development through sustainable agriculture and efficient water resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee civil construction projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and local building codes.
- Supervise and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project execution meets specifications.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure that work progresses according to the approved plans and schedule.
- Prepare project reports, monitor performance, and provide updates to senior management.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including government entities, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Drive continuous improvements in project execution and propose innovative construction solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
- 8-10 years proven experience in managing large-scale civil construction projects.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with infrastructure projects related to water supply, roads, or large-scale construction.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability regulations related to civil works.
- Experience with contract management and negotiation with suppliers and contractors.
- Familiarity with local government regulations and permitting processes.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and project management best practices.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and schedules effectively.
- Familiarity with Angolan construction regulations and environmental considerations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, problem-solving, and the ability to interact with different hierarchical levels.
- Fluency in Portuguese is required; English proficiency is an advantage.
